On-Campus Student Parking

 

Who May Apply:

Parking permits will be sold to students 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0. If the grade point average falls below 2.0, the parking permit will be suspended and no refund will be given.

Students must have all outstanding financial obligations resolved prior to purchasing a parking permit.

Motorcycle operators are required to register. Motorcycle parking permitted in designated area only.

Cost of Parking Permit:

Parking permits cost $25.00. Checks should be made out to Maynard Evans High School.  An application must be completed before a permit will be issued.  Parking permits will be sold until the capacity of the student lot has been reached.  Parking permits are only valid during the school year purchased.

What if I change vehicles during the school year?

Replacement parking permits cost $5.00. You will need to bring a copy of your bill of sale, the new registration and insurance for the new vehicle to update our records. If your car is in an accident or you switch vehicles with a family member, bring in a copy of the official accident report or scrape as much as possible of the decal off your window and attach it to a 3 x 5 card or sheet of paper as proof the decal is no longer in use. A new decal will be issued at the replacement cost.

Students not having a current valid parking permit displayed will receive the following:

First Offense - written warning attached to vehicle
Second Offense - written warning attached to vehicle
Third Offense - vehicle subject to booting or towing at owner’s expense

Student Driving /Parking Regulations

This shall serve as notice that Maynard Evans High School and the School Board of Orange County are not liable for any vandalism to, or theft of or from, vehicles parked on this property.

All students driving to school must display the appropriate decal permit in order to park on campus. The decal shall be displayed on the driver’s side, front lower windshield.

Students shall park in the areas designated for student parking. Students are not permitted to park in staff, faculty, or visitor designated parking spaces at any time.

Seniors shall park in the lot in front of the band area. If all spaces are filled they may park in the general student lot. All other students (non-Seniors) must park in the general student lot located between the buildings and the football stadium.

Parking in unauthorized spaces or occupying more than one parking space will cause violators to lose their parking permit and /or towing of the vehicle at owner’s expense. 

All student parking areas are off limits during school hours. A student must have administrative approval to visit the parking areas during the school day. Teachers are not allowed to issue passes to parking areas. This rule applies equally to bicycles, motor scooters, motorcycles, and any other type of privately owned vehicle.

Students are not to loiter in the parking lots upon arrival.

Students shall comply with all local and state traffic regulations while operating any motor vehicle on campus.

Students are to enter campus from Kingsland Ave/ Silver Star Rd entrance. Students who are late to school must park in the appropriate main campus student lot and immediately report to the attendance office.  At the end of the school day, all students shall leave the school grounds promptly unless under the supervision of a member of the instructional staff.

 

All Orange County School Board parking areas are the property of the school system. School authorities have the right to inspect any student parked vehicle in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of students.

 

Parking permits may be revoked for a number of reasons. These include but are not limited to:
Leaving campus without authorization
Taking other students off campus without authorization
Repeated tardiness to school
Repeated truancy
Reckless driving on or near campus, or involving a school bus.

Parking permits which have been revoked will be destroyed.
